Crosby Will Sit Out of Game 1

Sidney Crosby will not be in the lineup tonight when the Penguins and the Islanders play game one of their first round playoff matchup. The news came shortly before noon today.

Crosby has not appeared in a game since March 30, when he broke his jaw against the Isles. He has been skating with his teammates for over a week and spent yesterday practicing with the Penguins “fifth line.”

It also appears that the Pens will also be without Tyler Kennedy and Brooks Orpik, according to Newsday’s Arthur Staple.
